The support from Richland High School has been palpable. Students and staff participated in a USA Spirit Day, showing their patriotism by dressing in red, white, and blue. Principal Tim Regan expressed his satisfaction with how Barefoot’s participation has sparked interest among the student body.
“It’s just something that they’re talking about all the time and they’re educating themselves,” Regan said. “Teachers have done some information or lessons on the Olympics itself, so it’s just a pretty cool time.”

The community around Geistown is buzzing with excitement over Barefoot’s achievements. His journey from a hometown hero to an Olympian represents more than just athletic prowess; it’s a symbol of local pride and the power of homegrown talent.
“Barefoot has created a great buzz in the community,” Regan noted. “The students are getting interested in the skeleton event, and that’s what makes this such a special moment.”
