The season 2, episode 8 of the series saw Thornton, playing Tommy, hire a stripper from Rick’s Cabaret to serve as a pseudo-physical therapist for Sam Elliott, who plays T.L., after the latter fell and was left stranded in the pool.
The Unorthodox Proposal
Describing his father’s condition, Tommy said, “He’s 82 years old, and he’s ate-up with arthritis and all kinds of injuries, and he can barely get from one end of the couch to the other.” He then approached Cheyenne, a stripper at Rick’s Cabaret, offering her $100 for sessions where she would demonstrate stretches and exercises. “So, essentially, you’re your own physical therapist,” Tommy said with an eye towards convincing his potential hire.
The Agreement
Despite initial confusion, Cheyenne agreed to the arrangement. She was initially surprised at why Tommy wouldn’t just hire a real physical therapist but eventually accepted the offer. “Well, because my pop is as stubborn as a jack mule, but he can’t say no to a pretty woman,” Tommy explained with a mix of humor and resignation.
