The Evolution of Lola Consuelos’ Musical Journey
Lola Consuelos, a rising star in the music industry, has always found solace in the melodies that surround her. Growing up in New York, she was exposed to diverse cultures and sounds, which fueled her passion for music from an early age. “I think I knew music was my calling because I was constantly singing,” Consuelos recalls during an interview with EUPHORIA.
The Birth of “Sorry, It’s All About Me”
Consuelos’ latest EP, titled “Sorry, It’s All About Me,” marks a significant shift in her songwriting style. In the past, she was very cautious about what she shared lyrically, but with this project, she felt a deep sense of liberation. “I have to give my co-writers a lot of credit for creating an environment where I felt ready and comfortable being specific and intentional with my music,” she explains.
The EP delves into themes of anxiety, self-doubt, and insecurities. Consuelos emphasizes the importance of verbalizing one’s feelings: “Writing my thoughts down has helped me immensely.
Sometimes we keep things in our head, making it so much easier for our brain to spiral us up or even send us into a fight or flight mode. But saying it out loud and seeing it on a piece of paper can really help you make sense of what you’re feeling.” She encourages listeners to share their stories as well: “If I can help anyone feel inspired, and more importantly, less alone, then I am proud of what I’ve done.”
From Vulnerability to Direct Self-Expression
In prior releases, Consuelos was very careful with her lyrics. She explains that she wanted no one to know who or what she was talking about: “That’s definitely not the case with ‘sorry, it’s all about me.’” The EP’s title comes from a place of sarcasm and liberation. “I was so protective of my past and was very hesitant to speak about it in fear of hurting others,” Consuelos reflects. “But knowing this can allow just a small amount of strength to be able to speak about.”
Favorite Tracks and Future Projects
Consuelos mentions that if she had to pick one favorite track from the EP, it would be “Hypochondriac.” She shares the story behind its creation: “I was telling Evi, one of my co-writers and a great friend, how I was kind of wanting to talk about something else besides boys and exes. From there, we created ‘hypochondriac.’” This writing process was therapeutic for her, reminding her of how lucky she is.
Looking ahead, Consuelos hopes to manifest being on stage in 2026: “I want to meet my listeners and supporters face-to-face and really allow them to get to know the full me. On a personal note, I’d love to manifest lots of health and love for my family and friends.” She also highlights her plans for future projects: “There is definitely new music coming in 2026, and I absolutely LOVE IT.
There may be some of my favorite songs I’ve made so far. A full-length record is in the works, and I don’t want to speak too soon, but I would definitely expect it in 2026.”
