The Book of Mommae: Jones’ Heartfelt Journey
Jones takes a break from the Today Show to share her personal story through her debut book. You might think this is new, but… it’s been years in the making. Back in September 2024, she announced Through Mom’s Eyes would hit shelves in April 2025.
But life had other plans. Jones had to take a step back when her husband Uche Ojeh passed away in May 2025. “Years ago, I set out to write this book about motherhood and what I’ve learned from women I admire— and you can probably imagine how it felt as my life got turned upside down ‘while’ I was writing it,” Jones explains.
The Book’s Content
Through Mom’s Eyes is a compilation of heartfelt interviews between Jones and the mothers of several famous faces. Lin-Manuel Miranda, Lady Gaga, Stephen Curry, Shaquille O’Neal—these aren’t just names; they represent a diverse range of experiences in motherhood.
Jones pours her heart into this project: “I poured my heart into this book and I can’t wait to share it with you in April. You’re going to love what the women in this book have to say.
It’ll make you laugh one moment and tear up too! It’s a beautiful combination of wisdom & humor.”
Reactions from Fans
Fans are eagerly awaiting the release date, as they’ve followed Jones’ journey closely. “Nice! Are you narrating the audio version?? ☺,” one person asked. Another wrote, “It’s happening!🩷💚🩷💚.” Someone else shared, “We ❤ you so much!
Can’t wait!” A different user posted, “So glad you are thriving back at work!!” A separate person added, “I am anxious to read it! I am sure it will be filled with wonderful words of insight and wisdom from mothers who have done it well, just like I know you are doing with your own children. 🥰.”
A Look Back at Jones’ Career
“Today” has been a platform for Jones to share her thoughts on motherhood and beyond. “I was so excited about this last year. Do you guys remember? And obviously, life started life-ing, and I didn’t want to postpone it, but I had to, and it was the right thing to do,” she states in an Instagram post. The timeline is clear: Jones took time off from Today after her husband’s passing, returned in September 2025, and now we’re nearing the final release date.
The book’s release on April 14, 2026, coincides with Mother’s Day, a fitting tribute to all mothers. “April 14, it’s happening!” Jones concludes with a sense of relief and anticipation that resonates with her fans.
