Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi Opens Up About Cervical Cancer Scare
In a recent emotional TikTok video, reality star Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi revealed that doctors had found cancerous cells in her cervix during a routine examination. The Jersey Shore star, who is 38 years old, described the discovery as a frightening experience and shared that she now faces the possibility of undergoing a second biopsy under anesthesia.
“Results come back. Doctor calls me and he’s like, ‘Not looking great.’ He found cancerous cells on the top of my cervix,” Polizzi said through tears. “I’m terrified.
It’s scary, but we have to get it done because cervical cancer is nothing to joke about.”
The Jersey Shore star detailed her experience with the medical procedure and emphasized the importance of routine health screenings. “Because of that, I recently had to undergo an ‘uncomfortable’ colposcopy and biopsy,” she explained. Polizzi admitted that she delayed these appointments due to fear, explaining, “The reason why my doctor’s on my ass all the time is because I waited. I waited on my damn appointments because I knew I might not get great results but also because I didn’t want to feel the pain. I didn’t want to deal with the stress of having to deal with all of this.”
Precautionary Measures and Future Steps
Polidzi highlighted her current situation and future steps, stating, “I now have to undergo a cone biopsy under anesthesia for further testing.” She also shared that she is facing the possibility of a hysterectomy if her second biopsy results are abnormal. “Obviously I’m done having kids but, as a woman, the thought of getting a hysterectomy is just sad and scary,” Polizzi admitted. “Getting the hysterectomy and then not being able to have kids, I think that’s what’s killing me.” However, she emphasized her commitment to her health, stating, “But whatever to keep me healthy and safe to be here for my kids that I have now.”
Despite the daunting prospects ahead, Polizzi remains resilient. “I know I’m going to be fine,” she said, adding, “It’s just scary.” She urged other women to stay vigilant about their health, saying, “Ladies we are in this together 🙏🏽.”
Call for Awareness and Routine Exams
In the video, Polizzi called on other women to prioritize their own health. “The reason why my doctor’s on my ass all the time is because I waited. I waited on my damn appointments because I knew I might not get great results but also because I didn’t want to feel the pain,” she explained. “Just making this video to spread awareness to make sure you get your pap smears,” Polizzi urged. “And if your doctor calls you to do it again, do it. Make sure you’re fine and prevent all the bad things that could happen, like cervical cancer.”
With her diagnosis and her continued advocacy for women’s health, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi is setting an example of courage and resilience in the face of a serious medical challenge.
